Gujarathi team was opportuned to bite the dust this weekend.

The day on which we made in the shade,
The day on which their gaining chances bet to fade.
The day on which they had to sternly pay,
The day on which we had a triumphal way.

The day was nebulous to deal with an easy effort of WINNING. TOSS, doubtlessly it was ours. (Ofcourse its Falco subbuteo for us to WIN the Toss).

Zaheer and I were the unwrappers of the game. We found the ball was like a wanton and easy to face and blot out them but unfortunately couldn't employ our fullest sciences. Sadique and Vibhor made a scout to run our taut ship. While Sadique was on ho-hum at one end, Vibhor came up with his kind of frightful and dreadful shots in a rapid round. 3 SIXes and 3 Fours as well in his striking innings were feasting to eye shots. The score grew like a greased lightening and made us buoy UP in the hutch. After the job of this duo, Ishwar figured into attack to make the storm more violent.

Great, Grand, Idealistic, Noetic, Fantabulous and First-Class. (What else can describe his dauntless knockJ)

Their bowlers were made doldrums when Ishwar was on full phase of his form. He was the happy camper for us and ofcourse for them he seemed like a caustic camphor. The bowling went down the swanne and our score geared up like a fleeing fly. Ishwar batted only to make thier bowler's efforts slip through the cracks with Plan B, Plan C and blah blah never worked out for them.

Jislaaik! Brilliant knock of 60 runs (5 audacious SIXers). Ishwar, you deserve our heartfelt citation.

They started with a target of 166 from 18 overs. Captain, Saquib employed his rational thoughts again and premised a change in the bowling attack. He did hedge his bets intelligently and accordingly our bowlers came up with spectacular overs. Vibhor was the one who started to curb by unbailing the stumps with his vicious delivery. There on Sachin took the credit worthy who bowled an outstanding spell with his scudding and whipping overs. It was furious and tempestuous as well where in they eluded the hat trick. Very soon, he made them feel that they are chasing a rainbow.

Kudos! Sachin Bhai, for you did steer our game and for you did steal the showJ

Vinod with other bowlers Naresh, Prashanth and Hari brought in better effect and as a result we could trammel them to stay 60 runs away from WIN.

Australia Day Match

With the catastrophic match from last week, Mahesh's team wanted to retaliate with full rage. After a dig into, they bobbed up with a new locale where we never played before. Ofcourse we were excogitative to throw the caution to the wind and beat their tar out. Santhosh our sinewy savvy was our added asset to take off. It looked unusual when TOSS was lost after a long while in contrast to our HOBBYHORSE. But nothing could deter our forte and furor.

About the PITCH:

Venue: Hassel Street
Type:  Mat/Synthetic layered 26 foot long

It was klutzy and protracted but being newfangled, gave us a good adventurous tactility and ofcourse enough potency to get-go. Longer the pitch, stronger our spirit.

Here is the Hap:

Ratna had to start with his rattling deliveries in the first over where in they started to amass the initial hiccups. It was then Saquib who started spoiling their game paddock with his vehement bowling hone.  It was really calamitous and they couldn't dwell on this after a sobering start. But to confront us with the fullest brag, people like Vishnu and Freddy from their team were always there to fight back. But it proved that, none and nothing can clout and cut us to bite nails when Saquib was on his most efficacious and louring type of bowling. To add to him, Zaheer came up with some daunting deliveries to dismay them. And our regular crew Santhosh, Ishwar and Audrey wangled them to the chase-able score of 86 from 16 overs.

Of the Essence:

Audrey's first-class single handed catch behind the stumps was really staggering. The ball was from our fast spinner Ishwar, which came like lightening and got nicked to first slip by their aggressor, Vishnu. But his aggression had to bow down to our WICKEY, Audrey who took an awful diving catch. The catch of Horses for coursesJ
Whack! Single handed catches and that too behind the stumps have now become avocational for him.

And then the turn of our batsmen to take the charge. Sadique and Sachin were the unfasteners of our innings. Whilst the start off was pepping down with few wickets down, Vibhor our assailer, made his entry to make them bite the bullet. He was ahead of the pack with his strong dispatching. The flow of four back-to-back fours was beauty. I know you would be shocked if there was no SIX in his innings. But there were there guys, out of which one was not just the gentle one but a sky up huge massive and monumental SIX which went out of staduim on to roads.  As a result, the rain in the their parade and pain in their efforts.
We WON with a strategy of an arrow in the quiver.

STAR PERFORMERS:

> Saquib
> Vibhor

Excellent, effective and efficient allegiance. Extolment Guys!!!

As a whole, it was fine and dandy for our team and a damp squib for them.

Folks,

The cognitive content of triumphant recital is geared up and here is the tale of live-wired play against Mahesh (Tamil) team.

The Play where we had an upper hand of cracking WHIP
The Play where we knocked our socks off to send them to dooming DIP
The Play where we ruined their hopes by dropping a bombSHELL
The Play where we made them witness a hooligan HELL

HAPPENINGS:

The BIG day started with, we were being as fresh as a daisy waiting for the players to join. And TOSS!! Yes its ours, winning toss has become our hobbyhorse of courseJ

Poorna and Hari were the untiers and of course were the up rooters of their game. The disco biscuit was ON when Poorna pioneered our way with a SIX at the drop of a hat of our innings. What a way to tune the cornerstone! When Poorna was about to turn as a peril to them, soon he was trapped with a low-kept foxing delivery by Ramesh (Malinga). Then it was my bit to stretch-forth further but unfortunately had to be the victim of their fielding reign. Then Ishwar joined the onrush. Yes, when the scoreboard was on its pace as the bowlers', you cannot expect player like Ishwar to stay calm. He had his kind of treatment for them with his Herculean shots. Two SIXers and with the same flow, he had to be the victim after he was caught at long on. Then came in our dashing-slasher, Vibhor. What else will happen when fuel is added to copious fire? His effortless stroke play put the pedal to the metal and of course, their bowlers have gone nuts. Meanwhile, Hari at the other end got on to his toes and gave some stiff shots before he fell (Good job! Hari, you deserve the esteem for your pleasing LONG innings). Zaheer took the creditworthy long with Vibhor who was already on assault.
Have you ever seen the rains simultaneous to the hot sunrays of 28 c temp? We did see them Saturday but the shower was of SIXers from Vibhor and Zaheer. One of them from Zaheer was almost at invisible heights, overboard and over the trees. The fielders at fence just became fifth wheels when this duo was ON. And few strokes at the end from Saquib, put us in the seat of command with hatful score (170 from 16 Overs)

2, 2, 3, 4. Ha-haJ Not just the numbers but also the numbers of SIXers from our batsmen Poorna, Ishwar, Zaheer and Vibhor respectively. (Kudos! Guys, it was a top-drawing performance from all of you)

With the authority in BATTING, we pitched into the field with full gusto knowing that we have tough cookies in the form of Audrey, Ratna and Ishwar to cease them to lower score. Vibhor had the start for their ruin and followed by Ishwar and Ratna's splendid performance.

Ratna who was into full swing bowled brilliantly like on wildfire. Importantly, when he took the return catch (so called, you-tube catch) from gym-boy. The ball was on full pace towards the long-off overhead him, but couldn't cave-in our majestic bowler, Ratna who moved like greased lightning to take the single left-handed diving sorcerous catch. Can't believe it! It was magical, charming and awesome to look at. Iam sure that this catch might have tied the batsman in knots. (Alas! Ratna, your catch will ever be in the history of WDI cricket).

With Zaheer, Saquib and Audrey again demoed their bowling science; the innings came to end for them who stood 65 runs away from victory.

Great GAME, Great WIN and Great FUN!  WONDERS WILL NEVER CEASEJ

HIGHLIGHTS:

*     Record breaking score 122 overs in just 12 overs
*     50 run stand by Vibhor and Zaheer
*     11 SIXes from our batsmen
*     Ratna's you-tube catch

Folks,
Back into another variant of our CRIC chronicle. And its ready2read nowJ

HAPPENINGS:

SATURDAY, the most awaited day for cricket fanciers kicked off a bit tardy because of the mizzle. The day was full of skylarking with dim skylight with 3 games taking place. This time, Sadique turned out to be the new skipper and another captain, Zaheer was on the resisting side.
First gear: With our skipper (Sadique) loosing the TOSS, we had to field first. There was a switch of pitch to new one for our usual one was underwater which was ramping with unexpected bounce of the ball. Our bowlers employed their fullest and throttled them to flimsy score. Among our crew, Gokulan was creditworthy for he queered them to helpless lieu (16 All-out)
Second gear: With the intensity being raised, we moved to next combat where in again we had to be on the fielding side first. Prashanth and Zaheer gave an impressive outset followed by the notable shares by Vibhor, Poorna and Sachin.  Finally, Saquib demoed a tireless knock to bring them a decent score of 62 from 12 overs. In response, we (Sadique and I) could not chip-in an effective start. However later when Ishwar figured in after few dismissals, the scene changed to catch twenty-two for them. Wow! 24 runs in a single over to cease the game. (What a way to furnish the finish, Ishwar, we owe the citation to you).

Third gear: This one was really a game of high charge. TOSS was again lost in series to Zaheer's team who batted first. Poorna waiting for his type of time came up with some slashing strikes. Adding to it, others gave their parts and finally Sachin solitary knock helped them to reach 58 from 10 overs. It seemed to be an easy target but soon we realized that it was tough when their bowler Sachin was remorseless with his foxing deliveries. We were almost into miserable space when Ishwar was also caught. Then Audrey and Ranjish were there as super-chargers who brought us back into game again. Their mindful play with few heavy blasts adding to their spryness between the stumps put fielders under heat. It was a knock of decade for Audrey and of course a memorable one for Ranjish. (Onya! Keep rocking
J). Finally, it was our skipper to face the fire of Saquib in last over from which 4 were needed. Thank you Sadique for you finished it smoothly handling the squeeze.
As a whole, the play had its interest and intensity at their extremum levels

HIGHLIGHTS:

*     Gokul's incredible bowling in first game (2 overs and 4 WKTS)
*     Ishwar's splurging strikes off Zaheer's over (3 fours and 2 SIXes)
*     30 run stand by Audrey and Ranjish was howling under frustrating stipulations
*     Audrey's marvelous and miraculous two single-handed catches off Poorna, behind the stumps.

Off the Field Gossip:
> Audrey springing out as a showstopper of my action by some or the other way - Poorna
> Prashanth turning out to be another strong contender among new comers - Saquib
> Toss and Weather conditions are not in my hand, only efforts to win the game are in my hand - Sadique

Folks,

Time for CRIC events to hit your mailbox and here we goJ

HAPPENINGS:

> The day was a pleasant pursuit with a fleet of two matches
> Underwent an experience of the rare result - ‘tie’

HIGHLIGHTS:

The action was ON with our new chieftains (Zaheer and Hari) building their teams. Having won the TOSS, Zaheer opted to bat first. Alas! The runs were retarding and the innings was in dulling mode. However, thanks to Ishwar, Saquib and Zaheer who countered yet and made their worthful apportion to make the target (57 from 12 overs) for Hari's team. From bowling face, Santhosh as usual was onrush to keep us throttled to 56. Then the turn was Hari's team to take the charge. Though 57 from 12 overs seemingly well heeled for them, our bowlers Audrey and Ishwar demoed their fullest bringing down the equation to 12 from 2 overs. Zaheer came up with good over without latent hostility and then passing the buck to Saquib in the last over in which only 4 were needed. Santhosh was on strike and Hari's team was on their toes to make a feast. But with the par of the saying 'You can’t predict the result till the last ball in Cricket', Saquib with a majestic ball dismantled Santhosh's stumps when he went for the big one. YES, that is how we witnessed the rarest result, so called DRAW.

Hari's team was to bat first in the second game. This time, we had to face the heat (we generally call it' Under Pressure') when Poorna and Santhosh were on their bumble only to make us tumble and crumbleJ Few paddle scoops (fine leg shots) from the duo made us dysphoric. To travel along in the course of them, other batsmen, importantly the newbie, Nayan came up some textbook shots, which ultimately put them in driver’s seat with the target of 99 from 12 overs. It looked good and chase-able with some spry and strike rotation. But Sadique's over was out of the blue scene for us which costed us 3 wickets (So called military medium, worked out making the batsmen tickling). Very soon, our batsmen paved their ways to hutch to be in maze at last.

And as a whole, the day did jolly us UPJJJ

Off the field Gossip: (Just for FUN, Please DO NOT take this severe!)

> Is it the time for your retirement? – Sachin to SadiqueJ
> Batters keep coming, Better I switch to bowling dept or can be this way lets test how the ball can make a change? – VibhorJ

Humble request:
Gentlemen, with the sun getting more tempestuous week by week and with which consequently the consumption of H20 will get raised and therefore I'd like to make a humble request to each of us to take in some extra energy (water) with you:) Thanks for your understanding!

Folks,

Wish all cricket enthusiasts and readers a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Welcome 2011 and Let it create another sensation (On and Off the field)

Let it bestow us more energy to bat and bowl at an extra miles,
Let it forge us more to fly and flee over the field for the ball,
Let it make us tougher to an extent we play TEST match,
Let it fetch us the more furor to play on Sundays as well,

Another mail in a nutshell to bring in the CRICKETing actions is down here. Its all about how did we welcome the smashing and booming 2011.

HAPPENINGS:

> Ratna rejoined the team after a long while giving us more potency in nimiety.
> Happed were 2 games on the cheery day

HIGHLIGHTS:

We got off the ground with the Ishwar team getting through the TOSS and apparently, bat first was the choice. It was a squeamish way to embark on the right foot. Sadique and Vinod were the untiers for this CRIC calendar. With Sadique tumbling down in early overs, I got anotherful chance to mend the innings and could make the convincible score (I must be thankful to our couch, Ishwar for his fillip and jots). And followed was the Ishwar’s ascendance in his innings and altogether it was a looming target (88 from 10 overs) for Saquib's team. With our bowling crew Ishwar and speedster Santhosh who were at their best in assailing, the chore was made comfy eventually inviting the first win in this year.

Second game lasted heading over heels. With Saquib's team, chose to bat first, Poorna and Vibhor were on their shine in making the hay ramming us to cold shivering space. Majorly, Vibhor's 3 SIXes were really fascinating (Wack! those were firmest and fastest too). The scene was grueling, we could not nip-in the bud until our bowlers Ishwar, Santhosh, Audrey, and Hari took the charge and queered the pitch for them. Aftermath their score was curbed to 91 from 12 overs. Our beginning mode was again flunked but fortuitously our batsmen (Ishwar, Hari and others) could make the difference in brining home the bacon. However, the panorama took its change in holus-bolus when Ratna began his tariff, sniping out the deliveries of riotous pace. (Bravo Ratna! You bore witness for the long void from play cant grade you down). Nonetheless, at long last winning runs came from Prashanth (what a cushy job it was!) and Saquib’s team had to taste the sour grapes again.

Finally, the play was reminiscent and redolentJ

Dec25'2010_CRIC memoirs-Version1.3

Folks,

Thanks for holding all along for my mail got deferred this week. And here we goJ

HAPPENINGS:

> The day was cheery and sunshiny with only 2 matches were bechanced
> Hellenic cascading knocks by Sadique and Santhosh

HIGHLIGHTS:

The first one was almost the iteration of the previous weeks' game with few changes in teams. Ishwar team made their headway winning the TOSS at the kickoff of the game. It was a substantial hatchway made by their opening pair (Sadique and Gokulan) made the bowlers of Saquib's team fall in sixes and sevens. (Hah!! Fifty from just 7 overs). Nevertheless, Saquib hedged his bets with few alterations from bowling side that could not bestow us the grace of the scene. Citation to Sadique for he put the bowlers in quandary with his coruscating knocks. Gokulan, Ishwar and other batsmen as well couched in their efforts adding to the mickle making the upshot of 110 from 12 overs. Then the turn was Saquib's team to grimace the heat. Soon the game was curt by the bowling bout of Ishwar team with our openers Saquib and Poorna were hopped-out. With Hari and Santhosh ingressed in, the game seemed to be furbished up. Santhosh, our Cric tech savvy totaled with his coherent and firm innings.(Whack!!! 4 handsome sixes progressing to sky heights) whilst Hari came up with toilsome knock. On the spur of the movement, Santhosh had to accede behind the stumps to Audrey’s fobbing gain. Mishap continued when Hari followed Santhosh. (Unfortunate! Went for the BIG one, but Vibhor had the way to stop the ball with his clocking cling). The following batsmen could not add much with the heap growing up and as a result, the pursuit fell through L

In second game, Saquib's team got on with BAT first pick but again the mischance continued with out of sorts. The target was just 54, which was appeasing to them. Sadique again gave way with his incessant grade with one more one fell swoop. Onya! Sadique, Keep goingJ

As a whole it was a day of dominance (Both Sun and Fun were ON)

Dec18'2010_CRIC memoirs-Version1.2

Folks,
The chronicle with another red-lettered win is down here.
HAPPENINGS:
*      Poorna's riposte after yonks with an incredible innings
*      Few new faces over the battlefield
*      Its a 3 match day where in 2 matches were the part of praxis and one was vs. Mahesh team
HIGHLIGHTS:
The day was dreary but NOT our team was.
It all commenced with Ishwar team batting outset that ceded a challenge to Saquib's team with an orotund tone (with a target of 109 in 12 overs). On chase, our batsmen who were in piteous form had to break with measly scores kicking-in the team to self defense. Despite Saquib's hankering combat to chase the hatful runs, we had to be behind the verge of the victory. The second one was virtually the rematch of the earlier in winning termini for Ishwar team. Saquib's solid yearn from his bat again couldn't put us at the triumphant side.
Naveen, Naresh and Gokulan among the new comers casted their best with their enamoring execution at play. Importantly Naresh’s dazing catches were really charismatic. And our regular crew Ishwar, Zaheer, Audrey, Saquib, Hari, Andy and others as well were in the process of making excellence as their habitué. With their sharpshoot in all the departments, Ishwar team was under limelight for the rehearsing session ere of the big one.
Now comes the game of excitement of its kind of whirls and swirls (One of the breathtaking matches I have been the part of). The TOSS!!! The dynamic catalyst, Saquib with fortune in his cap went for it, it was ours again :) and BAT first was the apposite pick.
Low ebb to start with more ho-hum as the run rate was under extreme abjection (Just 13 from 6 overs). With the departure of Sadique and Me, Ishwar entered to make a parade of his assailing rack up. When everyone’s surmise was the LOSS, the state of shrink was changed in a blink with Poorna began turning out to be the peril for them. He hemmed and hawed for all his paltry play for last few weeks with one resplendent knock (37, 2*6, 3*4). Soon the heat was passed onto Ishwar. There was some decent score till Poorna bruised from the collision with fielder and Ishwar was out. Finally we could make up their target to 90(14 overs) which seemed to be comfortable for them.
Initial overs couldn't put them to the squeeze for they displayed some skittish stroke play. With the equation went easy (15 from 5 overs), Ishwar ruled the roost with his rational eye feasting deliveries (jislaaik!!!! 2 consecutive wickets). And then it was the turn of Zaheer and Saquib to hale them down.  Zaheer (this time with ball) entranced with all his avenues explored in the form of his scaring deliveries. Saquib took his part to daunt them down to pressure. 9 from 2 overs was the equation when Audrey bowled with out a hitch to pull their last straw with Saquib taking the concluding catch at long on.
The figures were 37R, 4W, 3W, 2W and 2W for our show stealers Poorna, Zaheer, Ishwar, Saquib and Audrey respectively along with 2 high up and significant catches from Sadique. Heartfelt KUDOS guys for your great job!!!
Wholly, it was the game of great potential.

Dec11'2010_CRIC memoirs-Version1.1

Folks,

CRIC-GO for version 1.1 is UP now and here we go!!!

Upholding the float of gloat with another triumph!

HAPPENINGS:

> Vibhor back into action after a void from play for few weeks.
> Match vs. Mahesh's team on our regular track

HIGHLIGHTS:

Whilst the practice play was called off, it was a prissy way to embark on with winning over the TOSS and choosing to bat first. This chipped in us some more confidence and gave us auguries of our advancement. The menace began when our opening pair fell shortly when they were just on astir for onslaught to the their bowlers. The sulky run rate followed with the whip hand of their bowlers till mid way through of our innings. But it was in 9th over, that Zaheer pioneered his kind of attacking inclement with his sizzling knock. (Whap!!!! 2 Sixes in an over). And there on Ishwar who held back waiting for right time, took over the charge. Very soon we got the scene in our control with the gouping run rate.

Thanks a zillion to them (Zaheer and Ishwar) for their grueling all-round performance with 37(6*4) and 38(6*3) each, which were the major contributions.

Second Innings: Started with an assaulting over from Audrey. And then it was in second over for them to be appalled when Ranjish came up with 2 blustering deliveries, recalling his previous weeks performance (3W in an over and 4W in a winning  match, which was unfortunately missed in Version 1.0). There on, our outvie was freed with the bowling rage from Saquib. Ishwar, Zaheer and Hari. But things went easy only till few of their batsmen started curbing us. They brought it to the equation of 13 from an over and in the final over which was very very noetic from Saquib; we had to wait with our hearts in mouths to make a feast. As a whole, it was an intensive contest.

Commute of the match:  It was Zaheer again, who stamped out the innings of their crucial batsman on fire (Guy in Red T-shirt). A ball on its enticement and batsman was on his toes to send the ball out of the fence but for his misfortune, the ball found its stopple in the form of Ishwar (repetition of striking combination)J

Dec04'2010_CRIC memoirs-Version1.0

Folks,

Here is the new chassis to share MORE about our Cricket off the field. Dropping few lines ALL about our cricket mania J everybody here can annotate and give in their kind of gloss.

HAPPENINGS:

> Santhosh harked back to the field after a long while
> Eswar and Sachin teamed up back after the last weeks' break for the trauma.

It was a 3 match day where in the first two were won by each of Eswar's and Santhosh’s teams respectively. But the third which was the decider was completely biased with the bowling storm from Audrey, Ishwar, Hari and Zaheer only to push the opponent to the hapless berth. Though Saquib trailed out with his solitary travails to the peaks of excellence as always, had to taste the loss again. Fielding levels have also been bettered and as a whole, it was the day of shimmering under drizzling with another dissemination of WDI cricket standards.

Break: It was Sachin's mouth-watering Poha that gave an extra heftiness to all of us. So delicious it was and could stop none having their luncheon instead of noshes. But its a wonder when this Poha worked for only one team in the deciderJ Anyhow, thanks a trillion to Sachin Bhai!

HIGHLIGHTS

> Sabari's top-drawing catch off Santhosh. He was plunging on to his right and made an effortless somersault and took the ball making it a dolly
> Couple of splendid Sixes from Ishwar, Santhosh and Zaheer each were also appealing.
> Andy’s single handed forward diving catch was also an eye feast.
> Sadique and Ishwar remained unbeaten in one of the matches sticking to their words of gainsay to Saquib prior to the action.

FEEDBACK:

Ø       More than we play, we caper and share the fullest of fun a lot across the team. It’s good to be the part of it - Prashanth
