Next's What!

It’s been long while for me take a pen on our passionate blazing play over Saturdays. Let me not talk about the twirls and swirls or the ebbs and tides of our game for last few weeks. Here is all about our team which is gonna miss the one who has been an excellent active agent, effective enzyme and most importantly corking catalyst in whichever the game he was part of.  Yes, the day has come finally to bid a vicious farewell to our great corking and noetic captain- all-rounder Mr.Santhosh at least exclusively for our cricket fanciers.

After witnessing the astral performance in terms of aggressive batting breeze, Herculean catching and of course an efficacious bowling by our CRIC giant and wizardry, Mr.Santhosh alias SandyJ, it’s really tough to display the revels for us on this eve. The sky up SIXers turning nightmares for many bowlers and the ruthless Wickets making many strong batsmen feel hooligan hell weren’t just the statistical landmarks as is imagined, but the greatest assertion for a career that's typically a success of cricketing achievement.   The continual toil and fortitude along with the unusual kind of strength he has have made him adorable and admirable.

Here Iam clueless to quote the instances (You know Iam amnesicJ) since there are gobs of games where he demoed his excellence by shambling the opponents. But I would say, being a batsman if u try to chase his delivery or try to be impudent, he can fox you with his kind of variance in pace, which he is well known for and make you feel yourself buried.

Like every tide followed by an ebb, our savvy had his time of rough sledding for last few weeks wherein our team has been suffering from the losing streak, which evidently says that our winning efforts are somehow proportional to his. Despite his problem with spinal pain, he hedged his bets and the level of commitment and interest he showed were exceptional. And fortunately with the determined efforts of our crew, we could give a fitting tribute with a victory over GUJJUS to a man whose career represented a wonderful triumph of to personality against often impossible,

Yes! Santhosh, we would surely miss you your sincere services. Now please bear me before I finish it off in due with my kind of four liners.

For the incredible impact you have had on our team,
For your intimidating effort possibly to enbeam!
For you led the team with great Passion,
And for you steered our CRIC Mission!

We owe heartfelt gratitude and again for sure, it is not an exaggeration when I say, you deserve to be at the pinnacle for your spectacular cricketing powers.

Thanks for everything and HAPPY CRICKETING ahead!

The Chronicle of Combat

On the other side of tragic tale, as already stated that we are already at work to even the score and reap the harvest.
For the players to be realistic in performing while on the field, we have invested a lot of thought and expecting the balanced significant returns from everyone in terms of efforts and excellence. After an extreme rational thinking on how we were teaming up, the focus will be more on plugging the gaps and correcting ourselves in all the aspects.

And below are the teams that have been formed and named.

Let me accentuate: The TITANS and Dare DRAGONS

Its tough to recollect the whole story and sort out the spotlights from all the previous games for an amnesiac person like me. But my job would be unfinished if I dont drop few lines about the rollicking, smacking and sizzling performance by Ranjish (Wow! Ranjish, you made me run out of adjectives)
This was about the last two clashes between the Titans and Dragons and about two people who really made their day by their amusive show.
Yes the show stealers were Ranjish and Andy. One was belligerent and with punishing mood busy in ruining the bowlers' plots and the other one was sailing close to the wind and blowing gasket to the batsmen to cheese them off with his brutal deliveries.
Fortunately or unfortunately, they were playing for the same team.

HIGHLIGHTS:
>Ranjish's lofted SIX over the mid of long on and straight from in Vinod's over was dismaying. Also two deep mid wicket Sixers and a four in same over from Zaheer were really beauty to look at.

> Andy's attacking spell that spotted and foxed players like Ishwar, Zaheer, Vinod and Naresh was really wonderful and watchful.

As a whole, they had proudly answered the call to, in the face of overwhelming odds, distinguished themselves on the field of battle. Well done duo!!

With the duo winning the game, Titans could cash the game but still had to bow to the belt of leading Dragons. And here is the winning sequence - D D T T D D D T

WE PLAY, WE REVEL ACROSS and REVEAL OUR SPIRIT!!!

When at a low ebb

The Phase of dejection:

And I dont want to take this as alibi for shortly conking out my blog.

Like every team in every game has its own set of sort of INs and OUTs, we too had to draw the blanks and fall at few hurdles put up by the opponents. The murphy's law has been following us for last four games as the riches becoming rags turning out the tables odd in all our departments on the field. I would only say, it came the right time when we were on the crest of the wave but in need of basics. Yes, the basics will always be revisited only when the dice are loaded against us and thats what is happening now.

Losing is not the end, you can always replace it, but there is no substitute for victory.
Am I penning down our loss in a exacerbated way? Well! It was a loss but not the dead loss.

We had a learning in every aspect and its apprising that we are already at work to look on what and how to rise to the occassion and bring back the glory.

It all began when we kicked off to play on turf. Let me not say that the turf did change the pace of our game and put us back in the race, because we have dashing openers, smashing hitters, pleasing defenders, assaulting pacers, sizzling spinners, attacking fielders, coherent catchers and what not? But....like any team, we had to go through the blind alley and had to have the blows and chips.

(I always think, the word BUT cancels the statement that is pre toted to it. In this case, I have to certainly make a change in my thought of BUT and you know the reason why).

The goose bump started with Gujarathi team, where we fought till the last and lost the very close game. There came the silence to our long run of winning roars. And then it was carried out to the Tamils who were waiting as avengers to slam us on their kind of days. One was lost and the second was lost and the third as well rooting us to the spot and making us dumb struck.

And comes the fourth game. Iam sorry for I cannot make this the dumpster though it was lost.Becasue It has got its kind of replenishment and commitment from all our players.

First to be mentioned, so called iconic players like Saquib, Santhosh, Vibhor and Zaheer were missing and the league two players had to open up the chances gained. TOSS was lost and we had to field first. To shorten the story, few mischances, few outbursting deliveries, few fall throughs, few attacks, few sizzling performances and as a whole we could contain them to 125 off 16 overs. For a team like us, that was possibly chaseable at ease.
The howling kind bowling can never go unnoticed. Naresh was really appealing and strong that day with his raising, spinning and beaming deliveries. He excelled and so exhibited the common adage "Practice makes man perfect". You will have to love his kind of interest and substantial commitment that he has been displaying. And our regular crew as well could do well to contain them.

Poorna and Vinod gave a massive and flying start (27 from just 3 overs). Long way to go, we were at an imploring pavilion end watching out the platform being laid. But Soon, the tables turned upside down with consecutive wickets in the form of openers. I went in down one and could show some resistance. Kesav who joined the battle with me couldn't survive longer and again left us bolted. Ishwar was the one joined me then and there on we batted really well to build up the platform with right momentum. Ishwar who showcased some blend of drives and nudges, pulls and hooks could count down our score in a very calculated manner. Thanks to him, for he almost finished the game as he usually does. But unfortunately got scalped to the slow delivery and there by raising the heat. The equation came down to 29 from 24. Audrey joined and couldn't find a chance for his conventional cover drive before he was run-out. Equation then came down again to 13 from last over. Then came in Anand Waghela and dropped a bombshell with his classic loft over the covers for a big sixer bringing down 3 from just one last ball which went beyond him without being knicked.

And the result is again the taste of rotten tomato after an excellent show case of skillfull play.
But for me, this Innings was very very special as I was at my best (ofcourse which went in vain) and it taught me to handle the pressure in middle order. Thanks to Audrey and Ishwar who made me daunt the bowlers. Personally, I would feel "Enjoyed those runs for their true worth;A part of that saturday's mirth." But from the funny shoes, I would again say, "The dinner was delicious but not the desert"
Had it been the innings for a great WIN, it would be the greatest pleasure and I would be on cloud eleven.

BOTTOM LINE:
We are not pass mustered and we still hold the aces. We can dictate what the disaster is and we can cook the damn goose for whoever may be the opponents. We play to fight and win every saturday to make an oustanding headway.

Feb26'2011_CRIC memoirs-Version3.2

The day took off early with all our players knocking off thier socks to fill in the legendry boots against the new but one week old Gujarathi team which was very very keen in our WDI team and ofcourse keen in winning as well.

We did flunk to cost a win more than we could play and pay
The fixture was lost sadly bud not badly & there the matter does rest
Perhaps it was just as well in case they cram their team with more quest
But one thing’s pretty certain, whatever else befalls,
We won’t forget the Ringer and We will come up as an assailing Firer.

It was an exciting game with the same old moments of exuberance, skill, graft and pain. But just in case our pride of unvanquished coherent WINNING streak became absurd unfortunately.

The tale of tragedy started with the TOSS being lost again but somehow we did have to bat first incidentally.

BATTING:

Kiran and Hari who have been consistently doing well for the last couple of weeks were to take the charge to unfasten the innings. But shortly the duo had to bow down to the twirling nimblest deliveries of their pace bowling attack. The taut rised with our batsmen making their headway not towards the score but towards the pavilion without making difference. It seemed like the innings being reiterarted from the last week but with a different line-up. Naresh who went up the order looked convincing for a while but soon got foxed to the pace and edged the ball. Vibhor popped out his innings with a sniping shot towards the fence and sent few signs of relaince and confidence to the pavilion. Who knows how long the charge dwells?  Tried for the big one but could find a stopple at the long on.Alas!!!
Following batsmen couldn't pile up the runs except from few level-headed singles from Poorna and Saquib.
Zaheer, Sadique, Sachin, Kesav, Vinod as well couldn't find a way to restore the innings.

Its really sceptical when the highest score from our batsmen was just and just 10. And its narking when a story like this has been insistent especially from a team of quashing smashers, pinch hitters and defending run getters.

0 3 5 8 10 .....Looks like a telephone number or any progression series? but these were the regrettable scores of our batsmen.

Some day when things are not the same,
And not all the things in par of the game!
Despite our level of extreme disposition,
And most favourable condition!

BOWLING:

The session started with our bowlers started with the same aplomb with which we finished last week bringing everone us to the feet of thrilling mode importantly with the first ball bowled.

Yes, its again a stupendious overhauling start from Saquib. The golden wicket fleet continued when Kesav at mid-off taking the high-up catch. What a way to start with!

The spell from Saquib and Audrey was again superb and spectacular. They really deserve the credit for the way they handled the tension and bowled inordinately. 3 wickets from each of them again put us for a while in commanding seat. Zaheer and Vibhor showed their extreme performance brimful of guile scalping one dominant wicket each.

In the CIRCLE and RUN-OUT-PLOT:

It was in Audrey's over when the batsmen knicked the ball towards mid-on and Poor guy he couldn't chip in it away from our sprying fielder Zaheer who was the cause for us to have the burst of smiles after he knuckled down the stumps directly.

Then it was the turn of Vibhor at point square leg who was waiting UP for the charge barred the ball and throwing it to Poorna for a plain go.

Kesav who had a comeback and gave us an extra heftiness at point mid-off taking three significant and elegant catches of which two were carbon-copies of one another.

Poorna behind the stumps as well could carry on his previuos week's performance with two dazzling takes.

Just 'well done' doesn't fit in here to delineate your scintillating performance over the field. It was more like a professional and another more like a classic tint of your act.

Of the Essence:

Saquib who excelled in bowling on the spur of the moment had to go off the field for his back cramp bothering. He just bowled 2 overs and we were almost came to the verge of WIN. But this scene couldn't cripple us as vibhor filled in the captain's shoes and proved his elegance. Its a wonder when Saquib came back despite his cramp and bowled two good overs. Excellent dedication! Saquib.

Time was when he had to his arm,
With guile and charm, he did despite all harm!

Dashing hopes turned to Crashing Hopes:

Pretty sure what every fielder then might have thought the streak would be repeated and we would take the pride of winning again. But the tide of the contest changed when one of their batsmen turned out to be an avenger. No bowling option went fine to inflict their blows from the man despite being injured and they could drag it to 12 from just 3 overs and we were left to the hapless space in the mid way of half travelled winning journey.

BOTTOM LINE: Sorry, Kesav! We couldn't re-welcome you with a winner.

Yes, the red-ink is ofcourse a flame of temp, burning at the core.
Sought to try something different or was given a new chore!

Cheer up – don’t be dejected, Look the part & get agitated.

Feb19'2011_CRIC memoirs-Version3.1

Winning streak continues..............
And here is the story all about how we WON against the new Gujarathi team.

The play where we witnessed another of the essence WIN,
The play where we had more cherishing memories in our BIN!
The play where we bowled well more than we did BAT,
The play where we came through the armed COMBAT!!

TOSS:Coin was chucked up in the air, this time the result was not in our fair. But perchance, we had to BAT first.

BATTING:
Poorna and Hari were to unfold the innings for us and it seemed a good start when the duo was on good touch confronting their terrific pace and swing. Only few strokes we had to witness from Poorna before he was trapped with ambushing block hole. And then it was my turn to spring up and lessen the taut but AGAIN the serial of my RUN-OUT continued. Their trait went forward even with Vibhor, our scorching smasher went in and who intially survived a mid-on catch but later had to accede to their pace, without any remarkable pay.
Hari at the other end could show some dominance and pertinence with sensible long batting.
Saquib, Zaheer, Sachin, Audrey as well had to thud with and thus pushing us to the space of quick dismay. Then Kiran went in to amend the innings and could make-up some convincing strike rotate along. Unfortunately he had no maximum chance to have the strike and control otherwise the target for our opponents could have been much better than just 87 from 18 overs.

 Epitomising melancholy:
Next-in batsmen had always a say,
"What’s the bowling like today?"
Chilled water bottles not so far away,
After we, the batsmen did badly pay!!

BOWLING:
The mission started with the bowling machine, Saquib opening the fete and when it was done euphoria began to dissipate. The "loosener" was supposed to get the bowler in his stride and batsmen looked to watch it through if it was a trifler, but behind the stumps Poorna had to finish his job.

What a BALL it was!! An eye-feaster with a classic spiflicating outswinger:)

But then-on things were different, although we were having fun, What’s different then? The difference is the ‘first ball’ that bowled. The next ball was more serious – the contest was really ON!!

After the buck and ball being passed to our colossal and rational performer Audrey, the cornerstone for their downfall was laid after his master-mind delivery with Poorna again was attentive behind. Adding to the attack, Zaheer, our winning weaponry and artillery ace was introduced to nail them.
Jislaaik! What a way to deal out in such a pressure with such an ease only to palliate and to make us go near the verge of WIN.  Solid, substantial and commanding it was to pick up the 2 important wickets. Outstanding performance Zaheer and we owe the credit to you.

An exquisite cameo from the Duo: Saquib and Audrey
Their batsmen looked good but were dazzled, confused, and completely bemused and virtually there was no way on earth they’d prepare for a contest then. My friends, not from just one but from both of our duo. They made the batsmen believe that they strayed to a wrong territory. This is what will happen when excellence meets wieldiness.

Heartfelt cheers and wishes to Saquib and Audrey for your masterwork. 4 Wickets from each of you. They were not just wickets but ofcourse the core chores gave us another TRIUMPH!

Story behind the stumps:

Poorna, as the keeper came up with another brilliant catching session as smart as a whip with all his forte to make the feast. Incredible and impressive show Poorna of yours without which our bowling extremum efforts would have gone in vain. Hatsoff and really hatsoff!

 HIGHLIGHTS:

Though the enitre bowling session looked highlights for everyone of us for the feel of witnessing and experiencing an extraordinary game, couldn't resist to put in the few golden moments.
  •  Poorna's outstanding 5 catches behind the stumps of which one was rightward diving single handed one was a beauty whilst the others were really marvellous. Extraordinary performance! Poorna, for your lively and spirited takes.
  • Vibhor's forward diving knee based (despite his left leg badly being injured) catch was awesome. Well done! Vibhor, you deserve the citation for your commitment.
  • Howling kind bowling from Saquib, Audrey and Zaheer. Full credit goes to you guys, cant etch your excellence just in few words. (Infact I literally ran out of so called Sheaksperian words to describe your show). But still I would say Superb, Splendind and ginormous!!
As a whole it was the show of Heroic potential with zeroic misplays.
Double hatful kudos to captaincy extr’ordinaire and our remarkable team!

Feb05'2011_CRIC memoirs-Version3.0

Welcome folks, to another newfangled version of our CRIC memoirs.

Sabbatum with over-the-top momentum!!!

We had a delightful bath of hot SUNLIGHT,
We demoed the exceptional and spunky TRAIT!
We eclipsed the superfluous heat of FIRE,
We outflanked with the splendiferous CHORE!

The play was set off with everyone figuring in betimes clinging to their forebode.
(Well done! Guys, we can go-along hereafter with the same zest)

Saquib and Ishwar being the chieftains spotted their teams in noesis with counterpoise.

GET-GO:
Saquib's team had to embark on with BAT after advancing the TOSS. It was not a very dandy job actioned by our openers. The score was execrable and draggy mayhap by the freshly etched synthetic pitch. Then our reliant performer, Vibhor who came went for some few blastoffs to make a plain sailing and with some decorous medal play from Saquib at the end, wreaked us some decent score 50 from 10 overs. From their team too, batsmen guttled and struggled to score. Then came in Audrey, who made them buoy up with his master play. He made a soaring and zooming knock to put them on solacing side. Sadique polished off with some fathom and beauty in his action.

Great! Audrey for your heroic and determined bash.

SECOND-PLOT:
Another chance we got to BAT first but regrettably couldn't defecate and differentiate from the previous game. Again, it was Vibhor who coined brilliantly with few pyrotechnics and as a result, we could put up some seemly score of 49 from 10 overs. Nevertheless, this score couldn't coerce them as Poorna and Ishwar were on their fullest force of pillorying.
Wow! What a show of efficacy to bring them ecstasy by another triumph.

THIRD GEAR:
It was then, Ishwar's team to bat first. With Vinod chipping in a corking lead to them while Ranjish flubbing up some grievous deliveries, they were able to score with full vim only to push us to heinous space. Ishwar again canned in and gave the axe to our piteous bowlers with his limpidity.
What a Coherence and pertinence to afford your team to sit well heeled, Ishwar! Great work!
Zaheer who pitched in as opener along with Vibhor, was our first victim. (Ishwar, carried through with the ball as well to make us dumbfounded). When Vibhor was on his style of forbidding assaultive mode, Audrey unbailed the stumps being behind which was unlooked-for. Following batsmen could not make much difference to forestall them to win another one.

As a whole, the day was cheery bestowing and enthralling us with MORE zeal

HIGHLIGHTS:

> Audrey's outstanding solitary knock in starter game
> Saquib's stupefying fiesta of spectacular TWO catches. One at boundary with an impressive  sideward somersault and the other at first slip, forward diving dolly.
Amazing! Saquib, for you have outdone the catching.
> Scintillating fireworks from Ishwar and Vibhor.

STAR PERFORMERS:
  • Audrey
  • Ishwar
  • Vibhor

Kudos! Vibhor and Ishwar for you have sneaked into the berth of consistency.

Awaited more MIRTH for the SPIRIT to be unleashed!

Jan29'2011_CRIC memoirs-Version2.5

Gujarathi team was opportuned to bite the dust this weekend.

The day on which we made in the shade,
The day on which their gaining chances bet to fade.
The day on which they had to sternly pay,
The day on which we had a triumphal way.

The day was nebulous to deal with an easy effort of WINNING. TOSS, doubtlessly it was ours. (Ofcourse its Falco subbuteo for us to WIN the Toss).

Zaheer and I were the unwrappers of the game. We found the ball was like a wanton and easy to face and blot out them but unfortunately couldn't employ our fullest sciences. Sadique and Vibhor made a scout to run our taut ship. While Sadique was on ho-hum at one end, Vibhor came up with his kind of frightful and dreadful shots in a rapid round. 3 SIXes and 3 Fours as well in his striking innings were feasting to eye shots. The score grew like a greased lightening and made us buoy UP in the hutch. After the job of this duo, Ishwar figured into attack to make the storm more violent.

Great, Grand, Idealistic, Noetic, Fantabulous and First-Class. (What else can describe his dauntless knockJ)

Their bowlers were made doldrums when Ishwar was on full phase of his form. He was the happy camper for us and ofcourse for them he seemed like a caustic camphor. The bowling went down the swanne and our score geared up like a fleeing fly. Ishwar batted only to make thier bowler's efforts slip through the cracks with Plan B, Plan C and blah blah never worked out for them.

Jislaaik! Brilliant knock of 60 runs (5 audacious SIXers). Ishwar, you deserve our heartfelt citation.

They started with a target of 166 from 18 overs. Captain, Saquib employed his rational thoughts again and premised a change in the bowling attack. He did hedge his bets intelligently and accordingly our bowlers came up with spectacular overs. Vibhor was the one who started to curb by unbailing the stumps with his vicious delivery. There on Sachin took the credit worthy who bowled an outstanding spell with his scudding and whipping overs. It was furious and tempestuous as well where in they eluded the hat trick. Very soon, he made them feel that they are chasing a rainbow.

Kudos! Sachin Bhai, for you did steer our game and for you did steal the showJ

Vinod with other bowlers Naresh, Prashanth and Hari brought in better effect and as a result we could trammel them to stay 60 runs away from WIN.

STAR PERFORMERS:

v      Ishwar
v      Vibhor
v      Sachin

Awaited MORE Mirth for the Spirit to be Unleashed!
